Will PianoLock work with my piano?

Acoustic pianos and digital pianos with audible speakers can use microphone detection. Digital pianos and controllers with compatible USB or Bluetooth MIDI can use MIDI, including while you wear headphones. Connection details vary by keyboard and adapter.

Does PianoLock record me?

No. Microphone mode analyzes pitch and activity on the iPhone. PianoLock does not save or upload raw practice audio. MIDI mode processes note events instead of sound.

Can PianoLock see which apps I choose?

Apple’s Family Activity Picker provides privacy-preserving selection tokens. PianoLock stores those opaque tokens and aggregate counts; it does not attempt to identify or transmit the selected app names.

What if I am away from my piano?

Blocking only applies during your chosen at-home schedule. Onboarding also lets you test your piano later and defer the first practice. Emergency access, a bounded pause, and Turn Off PianoLock remain available.

Can I cancel a subscription?

Yes. Subscriptions are managed through your Apple Account and can be cancelled from Apple’s subscription settings. Cancellation prevents renewal; access continues through the paid period unless Apple revokes or refunds the transaction.
